Without Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce loses out to his brother

For many, Monday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles was a rematch of the last Super Bowl game, but for others it was the latest matchup between the Kelce brothers.

The Eagles (9-1) continued their dream season by getting revenge on the Chiefs (7-3) with a 21-17 victory, taking advantage of uninspired quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

This game at Arrowhead Stadium was supposed to be the scene of a meeting between tight end Travis Kelce’s parents and his famous girlfriend Taylor Swift. However, the singer continued her concert in Brazil on Monday, which was canceled two days earlier. The death of a spectator due to the sweltering heat at the Estadio Olimpico Nilton Santos on Friday left the artist waiting for everyone’s safety.

Kelce didn’t look bad though, catching a touchdown pass in the second quarter to put the Chiefs up 14-7. However, the home favorites were completely neutralized by the defense of the Eagles, who even managed to steal the ball from the hands of number 87.

Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts was able to stand out, well protected by his unit led by center Jason Kelce. The mobile quarter crossed the pay zone twice for major players in the second half of the game.

For the Kelce brothers, who are very close, intolerance was absent again after the meeting. Travis also went to congratulate Jason, joking that he wanted to give him a late birthday present.

Mahomes could do no better than two touchdown passes and an interception, for a gain of 177 yards. He failed to repeat his Super Bowl exploits in February, when his three big-time touchdowns gave the Chiefs a 38-35 win over the Eagles.
