This is what Patrick Mahomes puts his bobettes through

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ recipe for success can be found in his superstitions, especially when it comes to his underwear.

The two-time Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs quarterback confirmed Monday night that he has been wearing the same red underwear every game for years.

“My wife Brittany gave them to me. I have to wear them. I wore them during the first season and they were pretty good. I only wear them on match days, so they don’t wear out too much. They’re not gross, I wash them every now and then,” Mahomes told former running backs Eli and Peyton Manning on ESPN.

“If we go on a winning streak, I can’t wash them. I must go on. As long as we win matches, I will continue with my superstition,” added the 28-year-old athlete.

This season, the Chiefs have won seven of nine games and had a six-game winning streak. The spins in the washing machine must have been rare…

With his annual salary of more than $50 million, Mahomes could afford all the red caps he wanted, but his happy pair has sentimental value. It certainly isn’t head coach Andy Reid and his men who will be protesting, unless the smell of victory becomes unbearable.
