The Miami Dolphins won the first Black Friday game in NFL history by dominating the New York Jets 34-13 on Friday at MetLife Stadium.
The winning defense gave up just one touchdown to the crowd favorite offense and scored one. On the last play of the first half, the Jets attempted a Hail Mary. The ball, however, was intercepted by Jevon Holland and returned 99 yards for the major.
On offense for the Dolphins, running back Tua Tagovailoa completed 21 of 30 passes he attempted for 243 yards and a touchdown. He was also the victim of two steals, one of which led to one of the Jets’ two wins.
Pass receivers Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill had a productive day. They collected 114 and 102 yards, respectively. This was also the case with Raheem Mostert, who crossed the goal line twice.
It was the first start for Jets running back Tim Boyle. He was selected to replace Zach Wilson, after the latter has not been successful of late. The rookie behind center completed 27 passes in 38 attempts for 179 yards and a touchdown. He also threw two interceptions and had seven sacks.
Club Velika Jabuka has lost in its last four away games and now has a score of 4-7. For their part, the Dolphins registered their second victory in a row. They remain on top of the America East division, with a record of 8-3.
