SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Laval Rocket defenseman Jayden Struble received a three-game suspension, the American Hockey League announced Monday morning.
Struble was fined for his actions in the closing moments of a game that ended in a 6-2 win for the Rockets over the Manitoba Moose on Sunday night. For his part, Moose forward Jeff Malott was suspended for one game.
Along the way, Struble received a minor penalty for roughing, another for unsportsmanlike conduct and was sent off for leaving his team’s bench.
Malott, who scored both goals for the Moose, was booked for unsportsmanlike conduct and sent off for leaving his team’s bench.
Both players will miss the meeting between the two teams on Monday morning. Struble will also miss the Rockets’ games Wednesday against the Belleville Senators and Friday against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Struble, 22, has scored one goal and collected three assists in 11 games with the Montreal Canadiens farm club this season. He was selected in the second round, 46th overall, by the Habs in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
