“Playing hockey was not fun”

The 2023-2024 season for the Vancouver Canucks is the complete opposite of what it was during the last campaign. Team British Columbia is one of the best on the Bettman circuit thanks to a devastating offense.

Elias Pettersson, JT Miller and Quinn Hughes are all among the top scorers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Hughes was also top scorer with 31 points, before Friday’s games.

But with 22 points, including 13 goals, in 20 games, forward Brock Boeser is also doing his part. He is also getting closer to scoring 18 goals in the 2022-2023 season. Here is a player who knew how to get back on track.

“The last few years have been really tough,” Boeser, who lost his father in May 2022, told the NHL’s website. I wasn’t home much, except in the summer. I think I felt anger towards hockey. Playing hockey was not fun.

“But I really had to fulfill a dream I had when I was a kid, which was to play in the NHL.”

Against the big three

Boeser plays on a line with Miller and Phillip Di Giuseppe, who often goes up against the opposition’s best players. And Boeser doesn’t hate that feeling.

“I’m really motivated when our line plays against the best opposing lines, trying to neutralize them and be better than them,” continued the man who is the NHL’s third-leading scorer this season.

“I started finding that motivation under (Rick Tocchet) and being in that role at the end of last season. I felt good as a hockey player again. It felt like me and that’s when it clicked.”

And that’s good for the Canucks, who with 80 goals in the 2023-2024 period. they dominate all other NHL teams.

In addition, with 27 points, they are in fourth place in the general classification of the Bettman track. This is a nice turnaround for a team that collected 83 points in 82 games in the 2022-2023 season.
