Perfection-Auto won the 38th Mirabel Hockey Tournament that ended on Sunday.
By being perfect in their three preliminary games, the Beauceron team finished first in their pool and first overall among the 36 teams entered for the competition.
In the quarter-finals, Stéphane Poulin’s team beat Windsor 2-1.
In the semi-finals, Gatineau and Beauce-Etchemin faced each other and with a nice 3-0 win, Perfection-Auto went to the final this time, and it was Hull who stood in their way, and Perfection-Auto won again with 3 to 0 and took his hands on the flag and the tournament trophy.
Gabriel Maheux was named the best goaltender of the tournament (4-0-0), with two shutouts and a 1.00 GAA during the tournament. Clément Marois also fared well (2-0-0) with a goals against average of 1.00.
Antoine Cloutier won the offensive player of the tournament trophy with four goals and two assists.
” We played excellent hockey from the last game of the preliminaries onwards. In the semi-final and final we were almost perfect. It’s always impressive, even after all these years in hockey, to see a group of young people outdo themselves game after game, I’m proud of them. » said coach Poulin after the tournament. »
Perfection-Auto will return to action in the LHJABF on Friday in Saint-Georges and on Saturday they will host East-Broughton at 7pm at the Desjardins Recreation Center in Saint-Prosper.
