Oilers: Is Leon Draisaitl waiting for a suspension?

Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl had four points in Monday night’s win, but that’s not what drew attention to his game.

During the second period of his team’s 4-1 win, the German took a vicious swipe at New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat.

When players from both teams battled at the edge of the boards to recover the puck, Draisaitl harassed his opponent with his stick. However, he was not penalized during the streak.

Horvat got up after the hit and played the rest of the game. The gesture seemed like an obvious attempt to injure an opponent, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Draisaitl received a call from the National League’s Department of Player Safety to explain his actions.
