NHL: Blackhawks forward Taylor Hall is expected to miss the rest of the season

Attacker on Chicago Blackhawks Taylor Hall will have surgery on his right knee and is expected to miss the rest of the season, the club announced Thursday.

Hall is in his first season with the Blackhawks, after being acquired along with Nick Foligno from Boston Bruins in July. He has two goals and four points in 10 games this season after dealing with a shoulder injury.

Last season, he scored 16 goals and 36 points in 61 games, and added five goals and eight points in seven playoff games with Boston.

The 32-year-old is under contract through the 2024-2025 season, with an average annual salary of $6 million.

Athanasiou on the side

The Hawks also announced that the forward Andreas Athanasiou he was placed on the disabled list retroactively from November 9.

He is suffering from a groin injury.
