Watson was injured in Sunday’s win against The Baltimore Ravensone of his best performances in two seasons with the Browns.
Watson will undergo surgery to repair the fracture, which occurred after making a tackle in the first quarter. The star, who also injured his left ankle, stayed in the game and completed all 14 of his second-half pass attempts to lead the Browns to a 33-31 victory.
The team said Watson should be ready in time for next season, his third since signing a $230 million contract last year, despite allegations of sexual misconduct. Houston Texansand which resulted in an 11-game suspension by the NFL.
Watson missed other games earlier this season with a rotator cuff strain in his throwing shoulder.
The Browns said an MRI scan revealed a glenohumeral fracture. The Ohio dealership consulted with an expert, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, before making the decision.
The Browns (6-3) will host Steelers (6-3) Pittsburgh on Sunday.
