Sweden’s William Nylander had fun on Sunday, scoring a spectacular goal in overtime to give the Maple Leafs a 4-3 victory against the Wild in his home country.
Watch the sequence in the main video.
Nylander hit the back of the net with his 12th goal of the season three minutes into overtime, bypassing the Wild defense before surprising goaltender Marc-André Fleury.
It was the conclusion of a rather difficult game in which the Wild got behind in the third period, while the Leafs led 3-1.
In addition to Nylander, Morgan Rielly, Matthew Knies and Auston Matthews scored for the winners. Adding two assists, Rielly finished the game with three points.
The Wild’s response came from Jon Merrill, Jake Middleton and Mats Zuccarello.
It was the last game of the NHL’s “Europe Series” to which the Senators and Red Wings were invited.
There, two Canadian teams dominated with two wins each.
