The Canadian could not afford a setback during his current stay in California and after two victories in two fights, everyone in the Montreal camp is breathing a little easier.
“It’s good for morale,” coach Martin St-Louis said after his shootout win against the Sharks on Friday.
“There is nothing perfect, we will continue to correct mistakes and try to improve,” he added.
“We had a very good start to the game, but the ice succumbed,” St-Louis also mentioned. We received a penalty and lost momentum. It’s something we have to work on, getting the momentum back.”
The Habs pilot also praised goaltender Cayden Primeau, who made 31 saves in the win.
“He played a really good match,” he noted. We have good games from our goalkeepers.”
He also had kind words for shootout winner Jesse Ylonen, who showed his very good hands to beat goalkeeper Mackenzie Blackwood.
“I think his hands are tired with the goalkeeper,” he admitted. It was a very good move he made, it helped us.”
