Kaiden Guhle settles the overtime debate

In a close game, the Montreal Canadiens won 3-2 in overtime against the Boston Bruins on Saturday night at the Bell Centre.

During overtime, Kaiden Guhle took advantage of a turnover and pushed the puck into the goal. The Habs guard finished his night of work with two points.

The losing streak against the Bruins ends at 10 games. The last time Montreal celebrated against Boston was on November 5, 2019, more than four years ago. The winning goal was scored by defender Ben Chiarot.

After conceding the opening score after 36 seconds, the Habs offered the same remedy to the Bruins during the first 51 seconds of the final period. Nick Suzuki, with a wrist shot on the power play, then Brendan Gallagher gave Martin St-Louis’ men a 2-1 lead.

A period of indiscipline followed on both sides, and in the end it was the Bruins who capitalized on their five-on-four advantage when Brad Marchand tied the game on assists from assistants David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy.

In the victory, Samuel Montembeault made 25 saves with 27 shots. His opposite Jeremy Swayman also had a good game, however, he conceded three goals on 27 shots.

CH will be back in action on Sunday, as the Vancouver Canucks will be the visitors.
