In a post on his Instagram page, he wrote: “Yesterday was a special wedding day for @michellemoney! The most beautiful soul that unites our family!”
His new wife also announced the news on her personal account in a video mentioning “Michelle Weir,” accompanied by the message: “Let me reintroduce myself (ring emoji).”
As reported by the Toronto Sun, the couple met in 2016.
Ups and downs
In 2003, Mike Weir became the first Canadian and the first left-hander to win the Masters tournament, which was played in Augusta, Georgia. This tournament is one of golf’s four major tournaments, along with the United States Open, the British Open and the PGA Championship.
After that, “Weirzy” suffered several injuries throughout his career that undermined his performance on the field. In 2015, he even announced that he was taking a break from golf following his split with ex-wife Bricia Wier.
The Sarnia native put a lot of faith in his relationship with his new partner during his win at the 2021 Insperity Invitational.
“She has been with me in every phase of my life for several years,” he said. Having him by your side here is very special. At this stage we want to win, but above all we want to enjoy pleasant moments with our loved ones. It takes a lot of pressure off.”
Before she met the golfer, Money participated in the 15th season of the American reality show “The Bachelor”, broadcast in 2011.
