Montreal police arrested two alleged cocaine dealers and three people suspected of committing an armed robbery in downtown Montreal on Wednesday night.
The impressive police raid took place in two apartment buildings located a few hundred meters from each other, on Champlain and Cartier streets.
Officers from the Tactical Intervention Group of the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) broke into two buildings and arrested numerous suspects. Several were released without charge, but five were taken to the investigation center for questioning.
The first two are suspected of dealing in cocaine and GHB, better known as a date-rape drug.
The other three, aged 37, 41 and 42, are suspected of having committed an armed robbery at a house on Hutchison Street, on the corner of Milton Street, on Wednesday night. No one was injured during this event.
As part of this investigation, searches were carried out that led to the seizure of drugs and various evidentiary materials.
