Canadians: Sean Monahan absent from training due to treatment

Sean Monahan missed Montreal Canadiens practice on Thursday, less than 24 hours after CH’s 4-3 win against Anaheim Ducks.

Monahan benefited from a day of treatment, which explains his absence. After a good start to the season, Monahan has had a quieter period of late. He has 13 points in 19 games this season.

Cayden Primeau he was also alone in his network, while Samuel Montembeault and Jake Allen shared another network. Martin St-Louis confirmed after practice that Primeau will get his fourth start of the season, Friday against the Sharks.

Primeau has one win in three games this season and has a 3.98 goals-against average as well as an .885 save percentage. He faced the Devils, Red Wings and Golden Knights.

Josh Anderson for his part jumped onto the ice before the other players. Anderson used the overtime to practice throwing.

After Friday’s game against the Sharks (3:30 p.m. at the RDS), CH will finish their trip to the West with a doubleheader against Los Angeles Kings Saturday afternoon.
