Canadians: Arber Xhekaj sidelined, CH recalls Joel Armija


The forward was recalled by the Montreal Canadiens Joel Armia On Friday night, during the second break in the match against San Jose Sharks.

Armia will join the team in Los Angeles in the evening, where the team will take on the Kings on Saturday afternoon.

The Habs also announced that they have named a defenseman Arber Xhekaj on the injured list. His presence on the injured list is retroactive to his last game on Nov. 16 vs Vegas Golden Knightssince he left the game due to an upper body injury.

This is Armie’s second call-up of the season, collecting six goals and three assists for a total of nine points in eight games with the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

In his first recall for CH, Armia scored one goal in six games.

In Xhekaj’s case, the 22-year-old defender has amassed one goal and two assists in 17 games for CH this season, along with picking up 47 penalty minutes.
