Canadian gives Joel Armia to Rocket, Lindstrom as reinforcement

A few hours before the doubleheader against the Vancouver Canucks at the Bell Centre, the Montreal Canadiens traded forward Joel Armia to the Laval Rocket on Sunday. Defender Gustav Lindstrom was recalled.

After being a regular in his first five seasons with the Habs, Armia was cut at the end of the final training camp. He has since been recalled, scoring one goal in six NHL games.

In the American League, he scored four times and added an assist in four games.

Lindstrom, for his part, participated in two games with the Canadian, each time being deleted from the scoreboard. He was acquired from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Jeff Petry and a conditional 2025 fourth-round pick last August.

The Canadian will look for a third straight win on Sunday after defeating the Red Wings and Boston Bruins back-to-back 3-2 in overtime.

Jake Allen will be the starting goaltender for the Canadians.
