In Columbus, Connor Bedard scored his 10th career goal in the Chicago Blackhawks’ 7-3 loss to the Blue Jackets.
The first pick of the last draft scored in the first period. He shot a handball that left goalkeeper Elvis Merzlikins no chance.
Bedard has now collected 16 points in 17 games in the National League.
The success of the young prodigy was one of the rare moments of joy for the “Hawks”, who were in great dominance.
Boone Jenner (twice), Kirill Marchenko, Patrik Laine, Erik Gudbranson, Cole Sillinger and Dmitri Voronkov all scored for the Blue Jackets, while Zach Werenski was involved in four of his teammates’ successes.
Jason Dickinson and Reese Johnson were the other scorers for the Blackhawks. They scored in the last moments of the game, when it was already a lost cause.
