The Ottawa Senators recalled the goaltender Mads Sogaard from the Belleville Senators in the AHL.

The recall happens the day after Joonas Korpisalo left Sens training due to minor injury. The Finnish goalkeeper is on the injured list.

At 22 years old, Sogaard played 19 games in the Bettman circle last season, posting an 8-6-3 record. a goals against average of 3.32 and an efficiency rate of .889.

The Senators also recalled the forward Matthew Highmore.

In Belleville this season, Higmore has two goals and seven points in nine games.

Moreover, Thomas Chabot still trained with his teammates, wearing a “no contact” jersey.

The Quebec native is recovering from a broken right arm.

Benson will play his 10th game in Buffalo

Recruit from Buffalo Sabres Zach Benson will play his 10th game with the team on Friday night, marking the end of the first year of his NHL entry contract.

The 18-year-old striker has one goal and four assists in nine games since the start of the season.

Benson was selected 13th overall by the Sabers in the last draft.

Soucy kept out of the game

The Vancouver Canucks placed defenseman Carson Soucy on long-term injured reserve and forward Pius Suter on the injured list.

Soucy has not played since November 12 against the Montreal Canadiens. He then left the game with a lower body injury after blocking a shot.

He was seen wearing a protective boot at a Canucks game last week.

Suter has been evaluated on a daily basis since the team’s return from Montreal. Head coach Rick Tocchet said Suter felt something after the next practice.

The Canucks have recalled forward Nils Aman and defenseman Cole McWard from the Abbotsford Canucks of the American League.
