From New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, NFL fans will see him at work again this season and his goal is well defined, especially as his team remains in the playoff race despite recent setbacks.
The former Green Bay Packers went down in a tackle in his first game with his new team when he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during his opening offensive drive of the season. The veteran is now trying to defy predictions that his 2023 campaign has failed. As he told NBC Sports, he hopes to return to action in mid-December.
“If the doctors clear him, we’ll let him come back,” Jets head coach Robert Saleh said, according to SNY.
After undergoing surgery more than two months ago, Rodgers has been making passes to teammates during warmups in recent games and can get around without crutches. The club from New York would not refuse the presence of its renowned pivot, as his replacement Zach Wilson has seen limited success. The Jets are 4-5 after suffering two straight losses, including Sunday’s 16-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
New York scored 144 points in 2023, the second-fewest total in the NFL. The next matchup will be against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
