A complete winning comeback for the Rocket

The Laval Rocket rallied from a four-goal deficit to triumph over the Belleville Senators 6-4 on Wednesday night at Place Bell.

The match started very badly for the American League farm club Montreal Canadiens, as the visitors scored four times in the first period.

The return of the crowd favorite, however, began towards the end of the first period. Brandon Gignac scored with less than two minutes left in the third.

The Quebec native was also complicit in two of his teammates’ successes, those of Olivier Galipeau and Sean Farrell. Other Rocket scorers were William Trudeau, Tobie Bisson and Mitchell Stephens. It was the latter who scored the winning goal six minutes before the end of the match.

The first was goalkeeper Jakub Dobes. He scored all the goals for “Sens” on 14 shots. Head coach Jean-François Houle decided to keep him on the bench in favor of Stauss Mann for the final two periods. The masked American was perfect on 15 shots that his opponents sent in his direction.

Clearly on a mission, the Rockets put 32 pucks into the opponent’s net during the last two-thirds of this matchup.

The Rocket will be back in action this Friday, when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms visit Laval. This will be the first game between these two teams in the 2023-2024 season. The CH farm club will then go on a six-game road trip to opposing rinks.
